How do I get started with DocuSign?

What is DocuSign?

DocuSign allows organizations to manage electronic agreements. As part of the DocuSign Agreement Cloud, DocuSign offers eSignature, a way to sign electronically on different devices.  Complying with the U.S. ESIGN Act, documents signed through DocuSign are lawful and court-admissible.  DocuSign supports 43 languages.

 

Who has access to DocuSign at Susquehanna University?

All employees have access to be a DocuSign Sender, meaning they can initiate eSignature requests.  Anyone (internal to SU or external to SU) can be a DocuSign Signer, meaning anyone can be sent a document to be signed, without the need for them to have their own DocuSign account.

 

How do I access DocuSign to be a DocuSign Sender?

DocuSign is available on mySU under the “Applications" tab.  It can also be access directly at: https://account.docusign.com

DocuSign uses the SU Single Sign-On (SSO) system, so you will use your regular SU credentials to log in.

 

How do I access DocuSign to be a DocuSign Signer?

Whenever an eSignature is requested of you, you will receive an email with a unique and secure link to instantly access the document to review and sign.

 

What options are available for mobile devices?

DocuSign works natively on mobile devices.  To be a DocuSign signer, simply open your eSignature request from the link in your email; you can review the document and sign with your finger, right on your screen!  For advanced features on mobile devices, such as DocuSign Sender functions – or for notifications, we recommend that you download the DocuSign Mobile App:

How do I send an existing document for eSignature?

If you have an existing PDF or Word document, you can easily send it through DocuSign for one or more signatures, in a particular order or simultaneously.  DocuSign refers to this process as “sending an envelope.”  Detailed instructions can be found here:
