Manage VoiceMail By Phone AND in Outlook

Voice Mail notifications will be received in Outlook:

(1)DO NOT DELETE OUTLOOK NOTIFICATIONS PRIOR TO LISTENING TO MESSAGES. If you delete the email notification, it will also delete the voice mail.

(2)These notifications will appear in your inbox with “Unity Messaging Service” as the sender. Do not move them into another folder or you will not be able to access the voice mail from your voicemail.

(3)When you open the voicemail notification in your email, the message light on your phone will turn off. If you mark the notification as “unread”, after opening it in your email, the message light on your phone will re-light.

(4)Voicemail notifications in your email can be quite large and they do count against your mailbox size.

(5)If you accidentally delete an email, and you did not yet listen to your voicemail, you may go into your DELETED ITEMS and move it back into your Inbox.

(6)If the voicemail is from off campus, name and phone number will comprise the email header, unless the caller has blocked their number from being identified.

(7)If you delete a voicemail properly through your telephone, it will NOT be in Outlook anywhere.

(8)If you use “Auto Preview” and click on the email notification of voicemail, it is considered read and the message waiting light on the phone will be turned off.

(9)If you have listened to a Voicemail on your phone and you wish to keep it as new, so that the red light remains lit, you must press “6” after the message has finished playing. If you simply press “2” to save it, the light is turned off.

* save as new means the message waiting light will remain lit. Merely saving the message turns the light off.

Once heard and deleted in voice mail, messages will be deleted in email automatically.
