What to Do When Your Paper Drawer Reading Empty (and there is paper in it)

  • If Drawer is empty add paper
  • This mainly happens in the LCF (large capacity feeder).
    • Open paper drawer that is reading empty.
    • Remove paper from draw and place back in as straight and aligned as possible
    • Best to put smaller increments of paper in draw at a time to ensure straight alignment
    • Do not fill over the Max Fill line (Leave extra space under Max Fill line to be safe)
    • Make sure that the paper guides are tight and in place.
    • Close paper drawer.
  • LCF tray will automatically move paper from left side to right
    • Do not open draw if you can hear the slide moving the paper

  • Unacceptable copy paper Do not use the types of paper listed below since they may cause paper misfeeds or an equipment malfunction.  
    • Damp paper 
    • Folded paper 
    • Curled or creased paper 
    • Paper whose surface is extremely smooth or rough 
    • Paper whose surface has had special treatment 
    • Paper once printed or used on one side 
    • Pre-punched paper 
    • Paper for 1-sided printing (when 2-sided printing)
