Migrating Previous Canvas Course into a New Canvas Course

  1. Log onto Canvas (https://susqu.instructure.com) using your SU Account
  2. From your Course Dashboard, click on the new course that you want to you want to migrate the old course material into

     
  3. After clicking into the new course, on the right side of your page, you will see a list of options, click on ‘Import Existing Content’

     
  4. Click the drop-down, and select ‘Copy a Canvas Course’ from the menu

     
  5. A) Search for the course that you would like to copy into this new course B) Select whether you would like to import all content or only specific content (NOTE: If you click ‘Select Specific Content’, after you click ‘Import’ you will be able to select the items you want migrated C) If you would like, you may adjust the due dates at this step (OPTIONAL) D) Click ‘Import’ to begin the process of importing old material into the new course
