Create Group Sets in Canvas

  1. Log in to Canvas and click on your course.
  2. In the course, click on People in the left hand menu

     
  3. In the new window, click on New Group Set towards the top of the page.

     
  4. In the New Group Set page, click on the orange + Group Set button in the upper right hand corner.

     
  5. In the popup window complete the following.
    A. Type in the Group Set Name.
    B. Click on the box next to Allow self sign-up if you want students to create their own groups.
    C. Click on the arrow in the Group Structure box and choose Create groups later, Split students by number of groups, or Split number of students per group.|
    D. Click on Save.
