"Inactive" Students in Canvas/ People Tab

Some students listed in your Canvas roster may have an “Inactive” label next to their names. This label simply means that the student has dropped or withdrew from the course. These students can no longer access the Canvas course and they do not appear in your grade book. In Blackboard, these students would have been hidden. In Canvas, they simply have the “Inactive” label next to their name

1. If a student is ‘Inactive’ they will be marked with an ‘Inactive’ status (see image below)
   
   1. You may be able to view the student in your course, however, the student is unable to access the course or any of its materials.
